Introduction and Background
Bembani Sustainability Training (Pty) Ltd and the Centre for
Environmental Management are pleased to announce the hosting of
Sustainable Development Conference in South Africa. The conference is
the first after the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) held
in Johannesburg last year (2002). The conference will stimulate and
sustain action-orientated and robust strategies towards sustainability
in business and industry, all spheres of the government, and major
groups. Progress on the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation in some
sectors will be showcased.
Focus of the Conference
The conference will focus on key sustainable development issues and
lessons learnt on corporate governance, water and sanitation, poverty
eradication, corporate social responsibility, natural resources
management, energy management, sustainability reporting tools such as
toolkits, IT and GRI framework, etc.
